Accounts Payable Analyst - Toronto

Are you an accounting profession with previous experience handling accounts payable activities within a large organization? Do you have strong technical skills, specifically in MS Excel and Oracle? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you!

We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Analyst to support our client, a leading Canadian retail store, in their Brampton office. In this role you will work full time hours on a 3 month assignment, and earn a rate of $24 per hour. As an Accounts Payable Analyst you will be responsible for supporting business-to-business accounts payable activities, including but not limited to:

• Ensure EDI 3-Way match and manual upload processes are completed in a timely manner and escalated issues are resolved timely
• Monitor on a daily basis the databases and interface files involved in invoice processing to ensure accurate recording of AP trade liabilities
• Maintain AUR/AUI aging to 90 days or less
• Record debit balances resulting from merchandise returned to vendor timely and accurately
• Maintain accurate desktop procedures and participate in cross training activities
• Communicate to manager any issues arising from the Merchandise Payable processing that will impact financial accuracy, relationship with internal and external clients
• Support banner accounting and finance to ensure monthly/quarterly tasks are completed accurately and timely and within company policy
• Ensure manual upload templates are accurate and ensure accuracy of transactions posted to the GL and sub-ledger accounts
• Provide support for period end close and internal audit process
• Any other additional responsibilities to support EDI and 3 way match invoice processing
• Any other ad hoc projects

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree, with business or accounting background
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field
• Accounts Payable experience in a large, multi-national company
• Previous experience handling account reconciliations
• An understanding of accounting monthly and quarterly close process
• Exposure to AP systems and technology, including design, testing and implementation
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and databases
• A working knowledge of Oracle GL / Oracle Fusion
• Experience in the retail industry is preferred
