Job Description

Reporting into the controller, the incumbent will be responsible for the full accounting cycle related to their designated business units.

Ensure the accuracy of accounting records.
Prepare and present monthly and annual financial statements.
Provide regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
Perform monthly and year-end closing tasks.
Participate in various continuous improvement projects to optimize processes and reduce financial reporting cycle times.
Develop and prepare various value-added financial analyses.
Ensure compliance with tax obligations by preparing and submitting tax returns in accordance with applicable tax legislation.
Work closely with the company's various partners to understand their businesses, help them understand their financial drivers and challenge their assumptions.
Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary information and resolve accounting issues.
Handle audit requests by collaborating with external auditors, providing the necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Perusing CPA designation, an asset
3+ years of relevant experience
Advanced Excel skills and experience with an accounting ERP system
Experience preparing financial statements
Experience in performing account reconciliations and analysis
Strong organizational and communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to multitask
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
