Senior Banking Administrator - Toronto
Position Summary:
We are currently looking for a Senior Banking Administrator to join our team at our North York office. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the documentation and management of trust accounts and ensure meticulous financial recordkeeping.
Major Responsibilities:
Process daily deposits
Accept cash payments from clients and staff members
Input payments into Ascend (insolvency software)
Review, input and post deposits into Ascend from satellite offices
Process Pre-Authorized Payments (PAP) for Personal Bankruptcy (PB) and Consumer Proposal (CP) estates including the set up of banking information, PAP schedules and entering changes/holds/amendments as required
Prepare and review reports for CP payment shortfalls
Manage/process returned dividend payments
Process Journal Entries
Prepare cheques
Monitor accruals of dividend payments to ensure efficient processing
Prepare monthly interest calculations/allocations in trust accounts
Process filing fees required by the Regulator and by the Court
Manage the pre-filing trust account
Analyze and process corrections of levies due or paid to the Regulator
Manage receipt books and auditing thereof
Prepare the annual banking report for submission to the Regulator
Liaise with staff members on banking matters and follow up on any issues that need to be addressed
Liaise with financial institutions to address discrepancies with trust accounts
Prepare bank reconciliations
Review daily banking reports to confirm accuracy of all deposits posted in Ascend and communicate any errors and/or discrepancies to the team and manager
Backup for bank run
Other duties as may be required
Education:
College diploma with a focus in business administration, bookkeeping, or a related area of study
Qualifications/Experience:
2 years of bookkeeping experience
Experience in Insolvency is an asset but not required as training will be provided
Detail oriented and highly organized with strong prioritization skills
Effective time management and multi-tasking skills
Able to work independently as well as within a team
Strong analytical skills to analyze account activities
Good communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization, both oral and written
Highly motivated with a desire to be successful
Strong client service skills
Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); able to learn computer software quickly (Ascend, File Assure)
Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
