Unit Manager - Toronto
The Unit Manager is responsible for the day-to-day unit operation including direct supervision of unit staff. This role interacts with physicians, nursing staff, other unit staff, and other departments and interdisciplinary team members on a daily basis and provides clinical support to patient/resident care by exception only. The position facilitates and fosters interdisciplinary participation in patient/resident care activities and coaches, mentors, motivates and empowers clinical staff. The Unit Manager creates a climate of interdepartmental respect and collaboration, and adheres and models the Covenant Health mission, vision and values.Travel is required, and may include the use of a personal vehicle. A standard driver’s abstract may also be required for use of corporate lease vehicles.

Required Qualifications:
Formal Education:Graduate of a recognized Registered Nursing program required. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BScN) recommended.Experience:Minimum three (3) years recent nursing experience required. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience recommended. Charge nurse experience required. Combination of education and experience may be considered.
