Our client is looking to fill a Paint and Blast Manager within their Nisku based facility and they may be waiting on you to apply.
Paint and Blast Manager duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Manage planning, estimating and bidding of their projects, as well as manpower, creating organizational and program budgets in collaboration with the executive team, and providing hands on support to their department
• Participate in the planning and formulation of design alternatives and solutions for major projects; provide conceptual estimates, cost estimates; coordinate the production of basic design plans.
• Ensures that work is performed in accordance with Contractor Specifications and/or as directed by the Contractor’s Representative.
• Develop and administer project budgets and fiscal controls, contracts, and quality control provisions; perform project cost estimating and value as appropriate.
• Prepare Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules and be able to prepare and assemble information in the format required by the contract.
• Examines and inspects work progress to verify that specifications are met.
• Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day management of multiple projects
• Authorize the issuance of contracts, purchase orders, and change orders, and approve contractor invoices for payments.
• Maintain productive relationships with customers.
• Develop estimates and execute turnarounds or other small projects in support of a larger customer relationship.
• Collect and report key continuous improvement initiatives within the project.
• Use knowledge of maintenance products (coatings and linings products, scaffolding, insulation materials, etc.) to manage production, potential problems, and inspection requirements.
• Research and prepare various reports pertaining to operations, equipment, policies, procedures, and other issues or senior management and customers.
• Participate in overall Continuous Improvement initiatives as set out by the Director
Paint and Blast Manager
• Ten (10) plus years' experience and is a technical expert in their field
• Five (5) plus years direct supervision and management experience; PMP Certification is considered a definite asset
• NACE Certification is required
• Strong background and work experience in Painting/Coating (Industrial).
• Advanced troubleshooting and communication skills
• Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices.
• Demonstrated leadership and vision managing employees and major projects.
• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety operations for the protecting of people, data, property, and institutions
• Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to look at situations from several points of view.
