TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP
is currently recruiting for a BUYER
for an Edmonton area-based opportunity to work in an operating plant environment. This is a contract position to cover a 12+ month maternity leave.
Job Description:
Solely accountable for creating Purchase Orders for goods and services by calling off from current Contracts
Executing go-to-market competition (RFx development and evaluation) for procurement and contracts of complex categories of goods and non-complex categories of services
Expedite and close out own Purchase Orders
Accountable, under guidance, for executing go-to-market competition (RFx development and evaluation) for procurement and contracts of complex categories of services
Coordinate supplier RFx evaluations and make recommendations on supplier selection and contract awards
Participate in supplier negotiations.
Lead and coordinate supplier visits required for sourcing deliverables
Perform contract administration and maintenance on contracts

Job Requirements:
Post-secondary diploma or degree in business or supply chain, or at least 5 years’ procurement experience in lieu;
Professional designation – SCMP, SPSM, PMP, equivalent is desirable
A minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferable in a processing environment
Working knowledge of procurement best practices and RFx process
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Excellent computer skills – proficient in the use of MS Office products.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work based on business demand
