Reporting to the SVP, Network Development and Core Engineering, the VP Core Engineering is a key leadership role within the Network Engineering discipline for the Rogers network. We are looking for a hands-on leader with a focus on delivering industry leading customer experiences by building highly engaged teams.

We’re looking for a self-starting innovative leader who isn’t afraid to challenge BAU thinking, loves developing and motivating highly engaged teams to drive results. Has a keen interest and strength in understanding the customer experience, and has experience in working with and being a key partner in our Technology team.
What you’ll be doing:
Responsible to engineer, upgrade and evolve all the Core IP networks that supports wireless and wireline customer services, enterprise services and corporate services.
Engineering of the IP network that supports wireless, and wireline customer services, network management & control, and corporate services over the Rogers enterprise network.
Responsible for Design and Delivery of projects and services on the Core network platforms to support all voice, data and messaging services in both a virtualized and non-virtualized infrastructure context.
Accountable for all Platforms lifecycle and evolution within the OSS domain
Responsible for Architect, Design and Delivery of projects of Rogers Network Evolution to 5G.
Responsible for managing the Capital program in Core network platform, as well as associated OPEX budget. Estimated financial responsibility of $400M in Capex, $80M in Opex.

What you have:
Senior leadership experience in Technology, Engineering and Telecom
Strong business acumen with a customer focus & deep telecom industry knowledge
Proficient background on core network virtualization and modernization.
Detailed understanding of IP protocols and standards, security threats and mitigation techniques, trends in routing and switching equipment design and familiar with leading vendor (Cisco, Juniper, ALU) IP equipment portfolios
Industry recognised designation, e.g. CCIE Routing and Switching or equivalent.
Expertise in GSM, HSPA, LTE, 5G NSA/SA, 5GC, IMS technologies, signal control protocols such as SS7, ISUP, Diameter and SIP and associated control networks design
Depth of knowledge in IP networks and associated industry trends
Familiar with leading vendor (Ericsson, Cisco, Juniper) equipment portfolios
Depth of knowledge in core network service applications and platforms, including industry trends and technology evolution
Proficiency in analyzing and understanding the most complex of technical concepts and the ability to problem solve difficult network issues
People manager with experience leading, managing and motivating a team
University degree with 15+ years of experience
