Senior Accountant
Exciting opportunity to play a key role in creating and overseeing the finance function of a newly established organization. Under the umbrella of a well-respected national association, our client is looking for a sharp, energetic, and analytical accountant who is keen to take ownership of a broad range of systems and operational functions. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day accounting, financial reporting and controls, all while providing the leadership team with accurate financial information and analysis to support in the decision-making process.

Main responsibilities include:

Full ownership of bookkeeping and accounting functions including daily transactions, month-end close processes and payroll
Develop financial policies, procedures and controls
Prepare financial statements and provide reports and analysis for stakeholders
Assist external auditors as needed
Support the management of operational and administrative functions
Support management initiatives and a culture of financial accountability and strategic decision-making

Qualifications

Mandatory:

The main qualifications for this role include:

Post-secondary education in finance or accounting
Minimum 4 years’ experience with full cycle accounting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Strong Excel skills

Definite Assets:

CPA designation
QuickBooks experience

Compensation, Perks & Opportunities:

$80,000 – $85,000 annual salary
