Our Client is seeking an Associate, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join their finance team in the Real Estate Group. Reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP) Finance and working closely with other senior members of the Real Estate Leadership Team (Finance, Investments, Developments, Asset Management), the successful candidate will be accountable for the end-to-end financial forecasting, planning/ budgeting processes, operating plan variance analyses, medium and long-term investor return analysis, and supporting key strategic projects across our funds and portfolio.

Responsibilities
- Ownership of budgets, projections and financial analysis across a variety of funds (land fund, development funds, construction funds, income producing funds, etc.)
- Create, re-vamp and lead current budgeting and forecasting processes/templates from the inception of deal creation, through to purchase, land and construction development and ultimate stabilization into an income producing asset or end sale
- Analyze current and past trends in KPIs including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures for projects under development
- Manage the reporting, budgeting and forecasting of project and fund performance through metrics such as returns, operating returns, IRR, ROIC, MOIC, FFO, AFFO and yield, etc.
- Working with the Reporting team to build out reporting and forecasting infrastructure for investor reporting and presentation decks for asset and fund portfolio models
- Life-of-fund reporting, 5-year, 10 year forecasted returns for various funds and investor profiles

Qualifications
- CPA, CA and have 8+ years of experience working in progressive leadership finance/accounting roles in the private equity, asset/fund management, real estate/infrastructure investment or pension space.
- Understanding of risk factors in Real Estate Development, experience with working with land, development and construction teams in an FP&A capacity
- Must have real estate or REIT/asset management, fund reporting and investor reporting experience
- Advanced excel modelling skills, ability to construct professional PowerPoint presentations
- Ability to review legal partnership agreements to ensure fund models are in compliance
- Ability to handle multiple competing deliverables, with accurate/timely delivery under tight timelines
- Sound judgment, with the ability to critically analyze situations, problem-solve, and deal with ambiguity and think like an owner/operator

Summary
The leader will manage a team of 3-4 staff and indirectly manage a larger team through the FP&A processes. The successful candidate will be a self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has a strong commitment to deadlines, is detail and process oriented with a high sense of ownership in their work and has a strong financial modelling and analysis skills.
