Accountant
This role involves preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements, maintaining reports, supporting month-end inventory processes, and assisting with various accounting tasks such as balance sheet reconciliations and tax remittances. The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in accounting, 2+ years of experience, and strong proficiency in Excel. Job Description

Prepare monthly financial statements and accompanying reports.
Prepare monthly divisional financial statements with the Controller.
Investigate any discrepancies and provide input on potential solutions.
Review, investigate and analyze financial entries, reports, and information.
Build, maintain, and distribute monthly reports.
Prepare gross profit report and distribute semi-monthly.
Support month end inventory process.
Coordinate with required departments to complete inventory for review.
Conduct finished boats count on the first of each month.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
Maintain fixed asset schedules including tracking and scanning supporting documents for all capital asset additions.
Prepare luxury tax, GST, and PST remittances as required.
Support the Controller in completion of the budget and year end by compiling supporting documentation as required.
Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Complete accounting for holding and real estate companies.
Maintain documentation of Accounting processes.
Other duties as requested.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

Post secondary education in Accounting and / or 2+ years of Accounting experience in a computerized environment.
CPA Designation or working towards a designation would be considered an asset.
Proficient in the preparation of monthly financial statements and maintenance of electronic working papers; advanced MS Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, professional manner and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
