Staff Accountant
Job Performance Expectations

· Conduct Notice to Reader, Review, Audit, and Tax engagements
· Prepare financial statements and corresponding notes
· Compute taxes owed and prepare personal and corporate tax returns
· Prepare year-end tax forms (T4s and T5s)
· Respond to client questions and queries
· Raise identified issues with manager or engagement partner
· Manage your individual client assigned workload
· Update manager or partner on the progress of engagements
· Clearly document evidence from testing and conclusions made
· Complete bank and other account reconciliations
· Prepare GST government filings
· Prepare professional correspondence, technical reports, client summaries
· Set-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses
· Work with accounting software and provide support to clients
· Develop and maintain relationships with client management
· Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches
· Work amongst a team environment
Job Credentials

· 1-3 years of relevant work experience in a public accounting firm
· Knowledge of and experience working with ASPE
· Strong foundation understanding of business, accounting, time management, and customer relations
· Experience working with accounting and tax software’s such as Caseware, CanTax, QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, along with other tax software’s
· Strong computer literacy skills in Microsoft Word, Excel
· Ability to have a strong team working ethic
· Time management ability to complete files within a budgeted time and value
· Client building relationship mentality
