Sr. Accountant
Cameco has an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join a highly skilled group in support of the corporation’s financial reporting. Working within a team of professionals, you will undertake various types of analytical and reporting activities and collaborate with stakeholders from various corporate departments.

In this role, you will:

Participate in the monthly close, including the completion of monthly schedules and reconciliations
Execute financial analysis supporting both internal and external disclosures
Assist in the delivery of ad-hoc deliverables for stakeholders as they arise
Support on-going continuous improvement initiatives and projects as required, including proactively participating in the identification and development of efficient, value-add processes
Comply with established internal controls

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, finance or a related field
Seven (7) to ten (10) years of relevant work experience
Professional accounting designation (CPA)
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of consolidation and accounting principles (IFRS)
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

Recommended:

Ability to prioritize assignments, manage deadlines and organize work independently
Experience using ERP software (SAP S/4HANA) and consolidation systems (Group Reporting)
Pro-active approach to potential improvements
Approach that focuses on the details with the ability to consider the bigger picture
Result oriented, proactive, with a mindset of continuous improvement
