Senior Accountant - Toronto

Senior Accountant
Perform payroll functions including weekly remittance of payroll/source deductions.
Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
HST calculations and filing of returns as well as making payments
Assists (when needed) with the process of new and used vehicles
Conduct financial audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulations.
Monthly HAPSET calculation and payments.
Bank reconciliations.
Monthly flooring interest calculation and payments.
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
Monthly reconciliations and review of schedules.
Assist in preparing year end audit working papers.
Assist with other accounting functions and duties as needed or on a required basis.
Assists with the training of new as well as current staff.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or an equivalent amount of experience)
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role within an Automobile dealership.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
Experience with CDK software
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
