Job Description for Congregation Machzikei Hadas Office Manager
Congregation Machzikei Hadas is looking for a full-time office manager. The synagogue boasts a large multi-purpose facility.
The Machzikei Hadas Office Manager is a key member of the team, reporting to the Executive Director. The Office Manager must be able to work collaboratively with a wide range of diverse stakeholders and volunteers with the utmost professionalism and decorum. A knowledge of Judaism is preferred, but not required.
Job Description: The Office Manager will have a wide range of responsibilities to ensure effective operations including, but not limited to:
Responding to phones, email and correspondence in a timely fashion;
Managing and processing membership forms and payments, bank deposits, accounts payable, accounts receiveables, donations, tax receipts;
Using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Docs) and learning new programs (e.g., ShulCloud) to effectively manage operations and information;
General office administration responsibilities for filing, office organization, filing accounting related invoices and documents, ordering supplies, mailings, clerical functions;
Managing all aspects of rental bookings of the synagogue facilities;
Supporting synagogue employees (e.g., Rabbi, the Executive Director, Director of Community Building and the Custodian) in their responsibilities;
Helping coordinate of all logistical aspects of events (daily, weekly, special) including flyers, registration, payments, floor plans, quotes from caterers and service providers, social media posts;
Drafting and/or coordinating weekly and special communications materials for synagogue membership, as well as managing and updating the synagogue website and social media presence;
Working collaboratively to coordinate work and information with auditors, bookkeepers, trades and other service providers;
Assisting the Rabbi with prioritizing communication flow and scheduling;
Representing the synagogue in a professional manner with a wide range of people including the Board, volunteers, caterers, members and renters; and
Performing other duties as directed by the Executive Director or Board of Directors.

Compensation: A competitive compensation package, including benefits, will be offered commensurate with experience.
