STRIVE Recruitment have partnered with one of Vancouver's leading Real Estate Developers as they look to hire a Junior Accountant. The client has a significant and diverse real estate portfolio that includes commercial and residential properties. The Junior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the client's projects, assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level accounting professional to gain valuable experience in the real estate industry.

Responsibilities

Perform bank reconciliations and assist in cash management duties.
Review Aged AR and AP reports.
Reconcile key GL account balances such as intercompany, investments, revenue, and debt.
Monitor clearing accounts such as suspense, sales tax receivables, sales A/R, and A/P payroll.
Support A/P team with monthly payables cycle.
Assist with preparation of partnership reporting.
Maintain supporting records for transactions within key partnerships.
Respond to inquiries from the Controller and Management regarding special reporting requests.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process.
Assists in establishing and implementing business process improvements and documentation.
Participating in various Finance/Accounting Department initiatives and special projects.

Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or other relevant field.
Minimum 2+ years of experience with full-cycle accounting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and
as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
