Corporate Law Clerk - Toronto
A mid-size West End Toronto law firm, is looking for an experienced transactional Law Clerk to become part of our Corporate & Commercial practice group. The successful candidate should be organized, proactive, familiar with billing & docketing systems and confident in managing the practice of multiple lawyers.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Law Clerk diploma
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Decisiveness and ability to carry out responsibilities with minimal direction/supervision
· Detail oriented with strong organizational skills & work ethic
· Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel / Word / Outlook)
Minimum of 5 years’ corporate experience required.
DUTIES:
· Prepare & draft correspondence and resolutions
· Assist with articles of incorporation, amendments, amalgamations, dissolutions, continuance, extra-provincial registration, etc.
· Preparing & filing of PPSA registrations & conducting searches
· Assist with corporate reorganizations, restructuring and mergers & acquisitions, preparation of document books
· Liaise with clients for examination & review of corporate records
· ONCORP searches & filings
· Fast Company maintenance
· Preparation of closing agendas, transactional documents & document books
· Work on multiple transactions & matters simultaneously
· Organization & maintenance of lawyer files
· Administrative support, including opening & closing files & docketing
