Accountant
We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant in Vancouver, British Columbia. This role is within the healthcare industry, where you will be primarily engaged in tasks related to donor services, gift processing, and account reconciliations. This is a 3-month contract role, with a hybrid or 100% remote work schedule.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive donor services tasks, including gift processing and reporting on donor revenue.
Implement thorough account reconciliations, including cash and donations in the bank.
Regularly maintain and review the Foundation database to ensure minimal discrepancy with the bank statement and other databases.
Assist in reconciling the Foundation database with the Accounting system’s general ledger to support accurate financial statement reporting.
Review the Foundation’s electronic fund transfer account and provide donors with necessary banking information.
Contribute to the processing and generation of annual tax receipts.
Assist with processing and reconciling donor data from various sources such as tele fundraising, door-to-door, event donations, and online donations.
Process journal entries to change accounting entries and transfer funds using the Accounting system.
Be actively involved in resolving discrepancies that may arise during the processing of donations.
Prepare concise reports on findings from reconciliations and share with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

Proficiency in making Accounting Entries
Experience with Account Reconciliation
Skilled in executing Bank Reconciliations
Familiarity with "Raiser's Edge" software
Ability to use "Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT" software
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with Donor Database management
Knowledge of handling Donations.
