Job Description:Who we are: We are an accounting firm providing bookkeeping and tax preparation services. Currently, all of our operations are running remotely. This role: The Tax Preparer Junior will be responsible for gathering information, prepare and review personal income tax returns (T1). The ideal individual would be an accounting student with interest in Canadian taxation and who has completed tax courses. A completed college diploma is an asset, but not required. Proficiency with Excel and file management is required. Experience with Profile is an asset but not required (we are willing to train the suitable candidate). Fluency in English and Brazilian Portuguese is mandatory. This is a temporary position for the duration of the tax season (starting immediately until the end of April). This is a remote and temporary position. The candidate must have access to a computer and a reliable internet connection. Responsibilities: Receive and organize information and supporting documents provided by clients. Utilize our management system ensuring that all the steps have been completed. Identify missing information or documents and connect with clients to request them. Create, edit and review working files as required. Requirements Fluency in English and Brazilian Portuguese is mandatory. Post secondary education in accounting is an asset. Students are welcome to apply. Attention to detail and accurate data entry are essential. Strong work ethic and confidentiality are a must. Able to respond emails with professionalism in a timely manner Strong computer skills (Excel, Profile, file management) Able to set priorities and organize your work. Police check is required. Schedule: Flexible, to be negotiated. This is a remote position, hourly paid. Minimum availability of 20 hours per week is required.
