Are you a detail-oriented and motivated accounting professional? Umpqua Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in accounting principles and software applications, including BizInsight and Sage, to support our financial operations. If you are passionate about maintaining accurate financial records and contributing to the financial health of our organization, we want to hear from you.

Your Impact

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Prepare and process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to support month-end and year-end closing activities
Utilize BizInsight to generate and analyze financial reports, providing insights to support decision-making
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment reconciliation, and vendor communication
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial data
Utilize Sage accounting software to maintain accurate financial records and perform daily accounting tasks
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations for financial transactions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and efficient financial processes
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations
Perform other duties and support deliverables as assigned by the organization

Your Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role, with proficiency in BizInsight and Sage
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger management
Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism
CPA certification is a plus but not required
