Job Description

Role open due to additional support required for asset capitalization. The asset accountant maintains and monitors the enterprise fixed assets sub-system to ensure the accuracy of transactions affecting fixed assets.

Responsibilities include:

Ongoing capitalization of complete projects to fixed assets.
Calculating, recording, and reporting monthly depreciation expenses and resulting gain/loss of fixed assets disposal.

The accountant will work with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and project managers to facilitate project capitalization and formal capital project close-outs while adhering to standard policies. Additionally, the role involves facilitating the disposal of fixed assets.

Hard Skills

2+ years asset accounting experience - capitalization
Experience within large complex organization - 5000+ employees
Intermediate Excel - proficient with vLookups, xlookups, pivot tables
Accounting Designation CPA, CMA, CGA, CA, ACCA, ACA
Project Accounting Experience
Experience within Crown Corp - Public Sector
Capital Assets experience
