Senior Accountant
Duties and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, highly organized with strong interpersonal skills. This position will be responsible for the following:

Act as finance business partner to the Systems Engineering team to track and optimize project financials including project revenues, gross margins and cash flow.
Monitoring multiple project and department budgets to provide department heads with key financial metrics.
Tracking of spending for various government funding programs and preparation of required financial reports.
Preparation of monthly financial reporting package including consolidated financial statements.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, updating forecasts and providing variance analysis.
Work with finance team on month end and year-end close activities from account reconciliations to financial statement preparation.
Act as a main internal contact to company’s audit firm during interim and year-end financial statement audits.
Assisting with bi-weekly payroll entry ensuring payroll is processed in correct and timely manner.
Monitoring cash flow, working capital analysis and review of Accounts Receivable and Payable balances.
Preparation and review of various remittances and statutory filings.
Assist in special projects as needed (i.e. Software Upgrades, ISO Internal Audit).

Experience, Qualifications & Education
Bachelors in Accounting or Business
CPA Designation
5+ years of experience in Project Accounting Role
Experience working with QuickBooks or other Accounting Software an asset
Previous experience with payroll software. Experience working with ADP software an asset
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate in a professional manner
Proactive and takes Initiative
Ability to work well independently as well as collaborate with other
Ability to set priorities and execute tasks in a timely manner
