Property Accountant - Toronto

Property Accountant
Reporting to the Director of Property Reporting, this position works closely with our Operations, Asset Management, and Corporate Finance team to provide timely and accurate financial reporting for an assigned portfolio of properties, as well as overseeing the day-to-day accounting and financial operations for our growing hotel portfolio.

What You'll Do

Prepare the monthly financial statements for a select number of properties in our growing portfolio
Execute monthly financial close process by taking ownership of tasks including preparation of manual journal entries, pre-paid schedules, billing/invoicing, fee calculations and account reconciliations
Ensure tax filings are prepared and filed in an accurate and timely manner
Manage financial technology to ensure financial operations and systems seamlessly integrate
Oversee treasury operations for a select number of properties (including initiating wires and preparing cash funding requests)
Partner with senior finance team members to identify, develop and implement strategic automation and systemization of processes to build the department for scale

Who You Are

University degree in accounting, business or finance
Must have 2-5 years of experience in full cycle accounting in hospitality or multi-property real estate
Extreme attention to detail and desire to work in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment
Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage high volume workloads simultaneously
Advanced Excel knowledge and high proficiency in Google Suite
Accounting software experience (previous experience with Xero, Airbase, Gusto is a plus!)
