Junior Accountant

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

Accounting Duties:

Full cycle accounting for individual entities
AR/AP review, approval, training, and support
Inter-company transactions
Reconciliations for bank, GL, inter-company and corporate credit cards
Monthly & year-end GL reconciliations & file preparation
Assist with the monthly consolidation process.
Asset listing maintenance
Vendor and customer analysis
Other special project tasks and coverage as needed

Reporting

Actual to budget variance reviews for managers
Assist with monthly financial statement preparation and related analysis.
General accounting, tax compliance, and financial records management of related companies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Desire to learn and continuously improve
Comfortable operating in a complex and rapidly changing company and ability to work effectively in an open-office environment
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and motivated to learn in-house software

Education and experience

Post secondary education with a degree or diploma in accounting
3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
Enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) Designation Program, or desire to pursue
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
Experience with SAP B1 is considered an asset
Experience working in a multi-currency environment is considered an asset
Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word

This is a full-time, year-round position located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island commencing as soon as possible.

Compensation: $50,000 to $65,000
