Junior Accountant
Our client is searching for a Junior Accountant to join their team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. This role will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting tasks, and contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department to help the company be fully aware of its financial condition to make the right decisions and accomplish long term success.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

Assist in maintaining order and transparency for the company’s finances
Post and process adjusting entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
Process customer payments
Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
Post general journal entries
Post and process inter-company transactions
Reconcile accruals and amortizations
Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when it is needed
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports
Complete bank reconciliations and ensure that payments from accounts are matching what is entered in the ERP system
Follow up with delinquent accounts
Assist with ERP system implementations for all companies involved
Contribute to administration and support by assisting with certain functions whether operational or financial management
Assist with senior accountants in the preparation of monthly and yearly closings
Assist with other accounting projects

Your strengths include:

Post Secondary education in Accounting
1+ years of related experience
Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal legislations
Experience using accounting software, specifically Sage50 is preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, specifically Excel
Strong problem solving and conceptual skills
Respect for the confidentiality that the role holds
Able to work well independently and a part of the team
