General Accountant
Position Overview:

We are seeking to hire a full-time, collaborative and diligent General Accountant to help manage full cycle accounting, bookkeeping, research and analyze accounts, keep up with current accounting technology, and ensure financial accountability. We are looking for someone who is proactive, keen, and willing to step up and lead our extremely active and thriving financial department. We're looking for a good fit for our bright and energetic team. The ideal candidate must possess extensive Excel experience and familiarity with Quickbooks, Income Statements, and Balance Sheets, as well as experience with E-commerce, Inventory Accounting, Holding Company Accounting, and Cross-Border Accounting.

The position requires confident mathematical skills and a horror for making mistakes, as the General Accountant will be responsible for authorizing large and frequent transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Full Cycle Accounting
Bookkeeping
Generating Financial Statements
Accounts Receivable - Perform reconciliations for the company’s sales, deposits, and fees
Data entry / recording bank account balances
Monitoring cash accounts
Data analysis / projecting monthly merchant fees
Accounts Payable – calculate payouts for vendors, partners, and clients
Provide support to the accounting team, including financial reporting, record keeping, filing, and organization
Maintain accurate filing system for all payables, receivables, and other documents
Maintain up to date files
Not responsible for filing taxes/VAT/GST/HST/etc, but will help organize data in-house and work with contractors to ensure accuracy of reports
Analyze current accounting procedures; recommend changes
Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
General administrative tasks such as issuing payroll, sending out wires, checks, and calendar reminders

Schedule:

Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
