There is an opportunity at Howlett Academy commencing in September 2020 for a full-time French teaching role. Starting earlier than September 2020 is a possibility as well.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and productive teacher with a relevant academic background, strong communications skills at all levels and a proven ability to have a caring rapport with students.
About the program:
Class sizes range from 8-12 students and are organized based on ability. Thus we have a French immersion group for those who are at a more advanced level. Most of the resources and academic material needed to implement the programs are already in place.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants must have a minimum of one year of full-time French teaching experience.
Other qualifications include:
An enthusiastic and productive work ethic
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
Work independently with little direct supervision
Work as part of a team
Accept responsibility and is self-motivated
Demonstrate strong work ethic to achieve academy goals
Generally, the teacher works school hours, which vary somewhat, but most also work evenings and weekends to prepare lessons and assess student work.
