Financial Accountant

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, we are seeking a full cycle
Financial Accountant to join our Finance team to oversee financial reporting for multiple operating entities.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Bank reconciliations, cash management, and other treasury responsibilities.
Enter and review AP invoices for payment.
Remit payroll deductions, income tax installments, and other provincial and federal regulatory payments.
Prepare month end working papers, journal entries, and relevant account reconciliations.
Review actuals to budgets and provide analysis on variances to support management accounting.
Assist in year-end preparation of financial statements.
Collaborate with other teams to improve processes and financial efficiencies.
Additional tasks may be assigned based on capacity and aptitude.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business
Bonus: CPA designation or currently enrolled in the program
3+ years of related experience
Proven knowledge and understanding of ASPE and GAAP.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong organization, time management and prioritization skills.
A high degree of professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential materials.
Fast learner, outstanding problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to handle high work volumes.
Strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal communication)

The annual salary range of $50,000 - $70,000. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
