Concrete Finishers Wanted

J. Branco and Sons Concrete Services Ltd. is based out of 4919 – 64 St. Wetaskiwin, Alberta and works on various projects located in Central Alberta. The Company is looking for 14 Concrete Finishers for the 2020 Construction Season. This is full-time, seasonal work from the middle of May to the end of October.

Education and Experience: No minimum education required, but qualified applicants must have 3 years min. experience as a Concrete Finisher.

Job Summary: Required to perform many different duties including placing, finishing, protecting and repairing concrete.

Essential Duties: Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement material; Direct placement of concrete into forms or surfaces; Operate power vibrators to compress concrete; Operate a screed to level freshly placed concrete according to grade and depth specifications; Smooth concrete surfaces using either a hand trowel, long handled “bull float” or powered float; Cut control joints: Apply curing or surface treatments; Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures; Directing concrete mixing trucks; Strip concrete forms.

Wages: $30.63/hr; group medical benefits after one year of employment; 2 tier signing bonus dependent upon hours of work and returning seasonal employment with company.
