Job Description

The Associate MCC program is a 6 -9 months development program to complete all of the Associate MCC/MCS training components.
In the role of Manager Commercial Credit (MCC) you are principally responsible for managing the credit and operational risk for a unit’s commercial loan portfolio. You are a subject matter expert and have the ability to analyze and understand credit proposals from a variety of industries. You can anticipate and assess the risks associated with entering into a lending relationship under a wide range of economic scenarios and ensure loan agreements are structured to be relevant, supportive and competitive for the bank and our clients on an ongoing basis. You will assess, analyze and perform due diligence in support of all applications, approving credits within delegated limits and making recommendations on all others.
You will interface with TD’s risk management group on a regular basis to ensure that your understanding of the Bank’s risk models and pricing platforms allows you to effectively interpret and apply policy. Recognizing that your credibility and influence with them is based on the credit proposals that are crafted and presented by your team, you make the development of your Account Managers and Analysts risk evaluation skills your primary priority. Thus, you will establish yourself as a trusted business leader who is sought after for guidance regarding matters relating to the credit facilities that are supporting the clients business strategy. You support your Account Managers and Analysts efforts to meet their business development targets by recommending credit packaging alternatives and actively discuss credit solutions with clients as appropriate. You feel comfortable in a team based business environment where you are expected to balance risk management objectives with our ongoing business building targets.
Requirements

Successful MCC’s have the proven ability to understand the economic and industry specific circumstances that will impact the long term viability of a commercial endeavour, leveraging them to structure solid credit agreements. Through their coaching expertise and experience as a mentor, they effectively impart their wisdom on a team of Account Managers and Analysts, developing these individuals to be better equipped to structure credit proposals and evaluate business risks.
In addition to your undergraduate/graduate degree in business or relevant professional designation, you will ideally have proven your suitability for this role with at least 2-3 years of experience in a risk management capacity. This would be supplemented by a foundation of assignments as an Analyst or Relationship Manager in a banking environment. You have well developed analytical, relationship management, credit structuring, coaching, and negotiation skills, and have a personal goal to expand them further in this role. Mobility is a valued asset as postings will be nationwide.
Your passion for enhancing the customer experience guarantees that we provide credit solutions that serve the best interests of both the bank and our client.
