Accounting Technician - Toronto

The candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting, assurance, bookkeeping and other business services.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

Review NSF cheques and other operational payments; communicate with staff to resolve issues and inconsistencies;
Complete CRA Reviews, general tax research, basic accounting projects, and bookkeeping
Assist with account reconciliations and the preparation of a cash forecast model on a daily basis;
assist in the completion of personal tax returns (T1’s), Trust returns (T3’s), possibly some corporate returns (T2’s) and other corporate work
Ensure compliance and accuracy of departmental policy and procedure;
Other ad hoc projects as necessary
Your strengths include:

An Accounting diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
3+ years of previous experience in an accounting firm considered an asset
Experience working in public practice considered an asset
Demonstrated knowledge of QuickBooks and Simply Accounting preferred
Knowledge and experience working in accounting software such as CaseWare and Taxprep considered an asset
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong team player
