Subcontractor - Pedestrian Door Service and Install Technician - Toronto

Creative Door Services, North America’s largest overhead door dealer, operates nine branches across Western Canada and we have over 50 years of experience in the residential and commercial overhead door industry. We provide access solutions by servicing and installing a variety of overhead doors and driveway gate systems, operators and associated controls.

Role:

We are seeking a Sub Contractor to work as a Pedestrian Door Service and Install Technician in the Edmonton branch. The Pedestrian Door Service and Install Technician will service and install pedestrian doors for residential or commercial clients.

Responsibilities:

· Diagnose problems, provide solutions, and carry out required work on pedestrian doors

· Regularly coordinate with the service scheduler on problem solving and required parts

· Provide estimates for how many person-hours are required for a service call, and the cost to fix versus replace doors

· Contributing to business development of the branch by actively seeking new customers and building relationships with current customers

· Other duties, as assigned

Skills:

· Mechanically inclined and capable of installing doors and frames plumb and square

· Work with site and finished floor levels

· Solid working knowledge of the various pedestrian doors types i.e. hollow metal, wood, glass aluminum

· Solid working knowledge of press steel frames, knock-down frames, wood and aluminum frames

· Business savvy with customer service focus

· Strong work ethic, team player and positive attitude

· Good communication and problem-solving skills

· Strong safety mindset

· Willing and able to successfully complete pre-site access requirements

Qualifications:

· GST number, WCB coverage and willingness to complete Subcontractor Agreement

· AAADM Certification would be an asset

· Capable of installing doors and frames plumb and square

· Able to install and adjust hinges (mechanical/electrified) to properly fit the door in the opening

· Able to install various types of door hardware i.e. closers, locksets (mechanical/electrified), deadbolts, thresholds, weather stripping, exit devices, magnetic lock, door sweeps

· Capable of installing automatic barrier free operators, sliding and revolving doors

· Possess valid Driver’s License and clean abstract
