Heavy Duty Mechanic - Toronto
Are you a Heavy Duty Mechanic with their Journeyman ticket? Do you have experience with off road equipment?
You will be responsible for the assessment, maintenance and repair of various on-site equipment such as haul trucks, graders, dozers and excavators. You will ensure that work is completed safely with proper paperwork supporting inspection. All equipment maintenance will be performed according to standards, procedures and practices set by the employer.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Branch Manager and Shop Foreman, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be required
to perform diagnoses and repairs on all Heavy Duty Equipment
• Inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul and repair of various components of a variety equipment
• Requisition parts, materials and equipment as needed
• Complete detailed, clear and concise work orders
• Maintain order, cleanliness, work output and safe working conditions in own work area
• Communicate with the Branch Manager immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Communicate with parts department efficiently to obtain needed parts. Know all the required parts that will be needed to complete the job assigned. Work with the parts department and their staff to best serve the customer
• Participate in company and manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the shop foreman
• Keeps shop area neat, clean and safe. Reports any safety concerns to the Shop Foreman immediately
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, provincial, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, etc.

Qualifications
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic Ticket
- Valid Drivers License
- Comfortable with travel to various work sites
