Driver Trainer REQUIRED IN TORONTO

Do you have what it takes to stand-up in front of people and lead and train them?

We need a Driver Trainer to add to our growing group.

You will be responsible for the screening and training of potential Class 1, 3 and 5 licensed employees and contractors. You will partner with the Operations and Recruitment Teams to provide qualified drivers with the skills necessary to safely and professionally operate company vehicles and to deliver customer freight to company standards.

Basic duties will include:

Conduct instructor-led classroom training on LCV, Cargo Security and Counter-balance Forklift. You will provide remedial training on Hours of Service, WHMIS, TDG, Fire Extinguisher, Spill Containment and other courses;

Road Tests (to determine if they meet hiring standards) and Evaluations; and

Complete, analyze and report on Collision Investigations.

Your training will ensure compliance with all provincial and federal regulations, and corporate policies. You will be required to maintain current knowledge of commercial transport laws, regulations, and safety practices and will also cultivate relationships with the provincial ministries and transportation governing bodies.

The ideal candidate will have a Class One license with a minimum 5-years of experience, an LCV Instructor's License (or minimum of 3-years of LCV experience), and clean Criminal Record Search. Knowledge of transport industry regulations is a must. Training and experience in Risk and Hazard Awareness and Management are key. The ability to analyze collision scenes, generate course programs using diverse computers skills, and attention to detail are all assets. You must be capable of addressing a group to enthusiastically and professionally instruct them using your experience and knowledge. Candidates with leadership, safety and resource management training and experience will be given top priority. You must be able to travel within Western Canada.
