Job summary
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the Truck Driver is responsible for operating a 3-ton straight truck moving freight between the Brantford and Mississauga Warehouse on a daily basis as needed. This driver will also be responsible to operate a pump truck moving skids on and off the truck.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Maintain a valid G license (yearly)
Clean driving abstract (yearly)
Clean criminal record check (yearly)
Must be able to operate a pallet jack
Experience loading and unloading small trucks
Must possess a current / valid Forklift license (preferred but willing to train)
Must possess a current / valid Order Picker License (preferred but willing to train)
Working Conditions
40 hours per week; occasional overtime required
Work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Must wear CSA approved safety footwear with protective steel toes and other personal protective equipment as required
Able to lift up to 50lbs
Repetitive bending, lifting, pulling, and stretching
Use of a ladder
Job Responsibilities
Operate a 3-ton truck on a daily basis
Unload and load skids with a pallet jack on the truck for delivery between the two warehouses daily
Operate a counter balance to assist unloading trailers in the Brantford/Mississauga warehouses
Maintain a clean and presentable truck including washing the outside and inside
Additional duties as required by the Warehouse Manager
Secondary Responsibilities
Operate an Order Picker and Fork Lift
Unloading and loading transfer from and onto 53’ trailers
Picking transfers from racking
Put away transfers in racking
Building cleaning i.e.; operating floor scrubber, sweeping floors etc.
Additional duties as required by the Warehouse Manager
Working Relationships & Communications
Work in cooperation and communicate effectively with all levels of the SanMar Canada team
Keep co-workers informed of activities that have implications to their departments
Openly communicate any successes, concerns or problems related to the job
